Biography

Raja Orr is a classically trained pianist, composer, and educator based in Alameda, California. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he developed a style that is both original and accessible. His compositions are frequently featured at chamber music festivals throughout the Bay Area.

In addition to composing, Raja serves as Assistant Conductor of the Napa Valley Youth Symphony and is the organist at both the Cathedral of Christ the Light and St. Leo Catholic Church in Oakland. He also offers private piano lessons in Alameda and online, with a teaching philosophy centered on nurturing each student’s creativity through improvisation and composition.
